A Touch of Autumn Is In The Air

It rained last night in our little desert neck of the woods and the rain is welcome.    It really is true that some of the best things in life are free.  I am opening up all the windows in the house to let in the fresh morning air.  It is interesting how the rain makes the sagebrush and junipers smell so fresh and fragrant.   We have several quail families about and they are calling back and forth to each other and ushering their little quail chicks about.  The hummingbirds at the feeder are feeding frantically,  fighting over territory with there little boney beaks.  I swear the wild sunflowers are six feet tall and brilliant.   Its moments like these  that make me really appreciate the simple things in life or should I say the free things in life.   This morning I can feel that nostalgic touch of autumn in the air and it feels so good.  I can sense the coming of winter and I intend to make every moment of August and the fall months count!  I hope everyone feels a touch of fall this morning!

I am an interior designer with over 27 years of experience in both residential and commercial design. I love the "do it yourself" person because I am a do it yourself person and I very much identify with making old new again. I believe that our spirits are rejuvinated and inspired when we relect who we are and what we believe in and are not afraid to face the harder parts of our lives. This blog will be dedicated to that purpose. I am also a survivor of domestic violence. I have an insatiable desire to grow and learn about myself in both spiritual and emotional ways. I love being a guest speaker for events in self-growth with the idea of hopefully inspiring others that past traumas can be over come and life can be terrific or at the very least good!
